August news at Fred
And just like that we say goodbye to August and roll into Spring – and we are sure you’re all as excited as us, about the prospect of long summer days ahead!
In the world of recruitment, the year has been full of changes, and we have flexed with them, to meet the ever changing landscape we are working in. Tech always brings solutions – choosing the right ones is the challenge these days, but it’s the changes in the hiring market that are most interesting to watch.
Some interesting points to note:
- A significant increase in senior level work coming in ($180k – $350k) C-Suite recruitment is on the rise at Fred, with a notable increase in engagement at this level. Accounting, FMCG, and start ups have been drivers in this space.
- Large scale growth for businesses who are no longer sitting and waiting, but instead taking the opportunity to grow, regardless of what the market is doing. We are seeing noted growth in Logistics, Professional Services, Property Development and Primary Industries.
- Fred has crossed the ditch. We have a recruiter based in Sydney, and our own little Aussie working across both Auckland and the GC, and have the capacity to support growth in our Australian partnerships now too.
- Newly placed talent is reporting more than ever, the importance of a good onboarding processes and support when starting a new role. We can’t emphasise enough how this impacts new starters in your team. If you’d like to know more about how this looks when it’s done well, we are happy to chat with you.
- Presenting who we are as a business is something we love to do at Fred. This month we had the opportunity to do just this, and really enjoyed quantifying our business as a partner to prospective clients. If you are not yet working with us, and are reconsidering your recruitment partnerships, we’d love to meet with you and tailor something that works for your business.
- FredMed continues to build momentum with some exciting new partnerships in the healthcare sector. Lately, we’ve been seeing strong demand across the sector, particularly for aged care and hospital nurses, community and clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and leadership roles within the private healthcare space. We’re also excited to share that FredMed will soon be launching under its very own brand. This is currently in the works, and we can’t wait to reveal more details soon, so stay tuned.
- There is a shift in the level of work coming through at Fred, and the way we are recruiting for it. Search tools are ever more essential in this market, with a growing percentage of placed talent coming from head hunting. The quality of this outreach is the key, not just the tools to do so.
- Referral work. Referral work is big for us and we absolutely appreciate it. If you have been one of our partners who has referred us this month, we salute you! Some of our most regular clients were introduced to us via referrals and we really appreciate the network it creates.
With so many changes in the recruitment market, from a couple more fallen giants (recruitment agencies) closing their doors to an ever growing multitude of small start up agencies going it alone, it’s a time where stability in your partnerships is vital and at times challenging. At Fred where there is so much going on around us all, we have maintained a steady focus on our clients and what they need from us. This clear vision is our driver, and what makes the Fred team so reliable and consistent.
