Fred Recruitment October Update

9 weeks to go until Christmas.

We’ve made it! almost…

Despite Seek application volumes dropping (marginally) for the first time in over a year (sweet relief for some!) we aren’t seeing clients ready to wind down just yet, with recent economic glimmers, we’re seeing clients push ‘go’ on roles they’ve otherwise been holding off on, in hopes of setting themselves up nicely for 2025 and snapping up good talent while they still can.

Growth within the Financial Services sector has proven strong with Insurance, Superannuation, Financial Advisory and Accounting roles taking the lead on our job board over the past couple of months.

We’ve seen consistent trends that lead to businesses looking to bolster themselves up for a slow but steady uptick in business for next year with Marketing and Sales Support roles leading the way, pointing to increase in demand across certain sectors, specifically in the service sector.

The majority of our roles are being placed through utilising targeted networks and strategic headhunting tools, proving that despite a crowded market, whipping a Seek ad up isn’t necessarily going to snag you the best talent.

Also evident is an increased demand for temporary staff who are likely to become permanent in the new year, as teams that have been running lean are now looking for additional support, but without the commitment of adding to their FTE headcount before seeing what 2025 holds in store for them.

Internally, Fred is excited to be growing once again with another experienced and capable specialist recruiter joining our team in the coming month, and we’re super excited about adding another expert to our team.

Bring on the remainder of the year as we inch that little bit closer towards sunshine, hot sand and icy cold beverages, and reach out if you’re keen to chat about employment trends, recruitment advice or hiring needs.
