Fred Recruitment September Market Update

Fred is 6 months old!  

So we thought we’d start September’s newsletter with the good news.  We are starting to see hiring upturn – and some extra sunshine, and we are absolutely stoked to see both.

It’s cautious optimism but it’s great to hear the subtle change in tone.  That said, we see hiring managers still generally cautious, taking their time to settle on the right candidates, resulting in a slower process.  Businesses remain mindful of their spending, and conservative with salary offers. There is plenty of negotiation happening, but it remains an employer driven market for now.

Notably, we are seeing an increase in demand for marketing roles – a testament to businesses recognising that these positions spear head growth and opportunity.  Sales roles continue to be prioritised in businesses – even those who aren’t hiring will still consider adding a good industry expert to the team.

Khalid is flat out in the medical space with no surprises there as this industry continues to be under immense pressure.  He has a growing network of superb talent, both medical and non medical. Adding medical to Fred’s industry sector was a no brainer, and we love seeing the growth here.

So, Fred is 6 months old now – what a year to start a new business!  At Fred we never seem to be short of excuses for a team event, so last week we celebrated with a Mexican Fiesta and some margaritas – it was great to get some of the team in the same town and tools down for some lawn games and cocktails.

Fred started off small at the end of March and has since tripled in size. As new business owners, the journey has been very exciting but also challenging, particularly trying to navigate everything that goes into getting a new business off the ground during a volatile employment market.

What have we learned? Well, when you combine an awesome team of people with extensive experience and a strong network of loyal business relationships you can achieve great things! We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time, and we’re excited to see what the future holds.
