We are seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary rehabilitation and mental health team based in Wellington. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client group, delivering evidence-based psychological services that support individuals to achieve positive rehabilitation, wellbeing, and life outcomes.

About the Role

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will manage a varied clinical caseload, balancing high-quality client care with service delivery requirements and outcome-focused rehabilitation goals. You will work collaboratively with clients, their whānau, healthcare professionals, funders, employers, and other stakeholders to provide effective psychological assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation support.

The role includes:

  • Psychological assessment and treatment planning
  • Delivery of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Ongoing client progress monitoring and outcome measurement
  • Preparation of professional reports and clinical documentation
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams
  • Liaison with funders, medical practitioners, and other stakeholders
  • Contribution to quality improvement and professional development initiatives

What We're Looking ForEssential Requirements

  • Registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Professional indemnity insurance (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong clinical assessment, formulation, and intervention skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Knowledge of ACC legislation/insurers as purchaser of services

Highly Regarded Experience

  • Psychological management of clients with:
    • Traumatic brain injury
    • Physical injury rehabilitation
    • Persistent or chronic pain
  • Training and experience in trauma-focused interventions
  • Neuropsychological assessment experience

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of standardised psychological assessments and outcome measures
  • Current understanding of evidence-based psychological interventions
  • Cultural safety and culturally responsive practice
  • Knowledge of cognitive and physical rehabilitation approaches
  • Understanding of insurer-funded rehabilitation services and rehabilitation systems
  • Strong organisational, documentation, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic clinical record systems
