The Role
This is a varied position combining clinical dental assisting and reception duties, working closely with the dentists and wider team to ensure the clinic runs smoothly and patients receive excellent care. The role can be 4 or 5 days per week for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Clinical (Dental Assistant Duties).
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
- Maintain a clean, sterile clinical environment in line with infection control protocols.
- Sterilise dental instruments and manage clinical supplies.
Provide chairside assistance and support patient comfort during treatments. - Assist with charting and clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and clinical standards.
Administrative (Reception Duties)
- Welcome and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner.
- Manage patient bookings, scheduling, and appointment confirmations.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient enquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update practice management systems.
- Process payments, invoices, and insurance claims.
- Manage emails, correspondence, and patient recall systems.
- Coordinate with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Upload invoices and process ACC claims.
Who We’re Looking For
- Previous dental assisting or reception experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Someone organised, reliable, and able to manage a busy environment.
- A friendly and professional communicator who enjoys working with people.
- A proactive team player who is happy to support wherever needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of patient care.
