This role will see you managing the end of end process of coordinating all export airfreight orders within the food department of the business. Busy, varied role!

About the role
This is a newly created role, due to growth and progression within the business. You will be joining a well established New Zealand owned business with a fun and supportive bunch of colleagues within the customs team. This is a dynamic role where you will see the process through from start to finish, being responsible for facilitating and processing inbound import orders while managing key account relationships and ensuring consistent KPI achievement.

Ideal skills and experience
We’re seeking a skilled professional with a combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and strong interpersonal skills. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 2+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding
- Background in Exports Customer Service
- Ideally have a experience within the dry freight or perishable food industry
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Highly detail-oriented, organised, and efficient
- Positive, proactive mindset
- Proficiency in CargoWise
- Ideally have your customs pin
- Able to work one weekend a month
You will be:
- Managing end-to-end export airfreight processes, including booking cargo, preparing documentation, and coordinating shipments
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, and overseas agents to ensure all logistics and compliance requirements are met
- Organising timely pick-ups, space bookings, and communicate cut-off times and shipment updates
- Work closely with warehouse staff to coordinate loading schedules and special handling needs
- Preparing and process export documentation, including MPI certificates, certificates of origin, invoices, and permits
