We are looking for a strong, commercially driven General Manager to lead a housing division operating across relocatable homes and transport logistics.
This is a hands-on operational position focused on performance, profitability and execution.
The business combines sales, construction, logistics and project delivery. It is fast-moving, complex and requires someone who can bring structure, discipline and accountability across all areas.
You will be responsible for turning the division into a predictable, well-run and profitable operation.
The Organisation
Be part of a values-led organisation passionate about providing home ownership opportunities for Kiwis. This group of companies provides options; house relocation, building, demolition and project management. With roots deep into rural New Zealand, their story is real magic and one everyone in the entire business is passionate about.
The Role
- Owning revenue, margin and overall financial performance of the division
- Driving operational performance across multiple concurrent projects and crews
- Leading the sales function, including pipeline visibility, conversion and pricing discipline
- Enforcing CRM usage, reporting and process discipline across the business
- Improving job-level margin through cost control and better decision making
- Identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies
- Leading and holding the team accountable to clear performance standards
- Working closely with senior leadership to strengthen systems and execution
The Ideal Person
This role will suit a proven operator who has run a business unit or division and is comfortable being accountable for results.
You are not just a manager. You are a performance-driven leader who understands numbers, systems and execution.
You will bring:
- Proven experience running a business, division or operational unit with P&L responsibility
- Strong financial and commercial acumen (margin, forecasting, cost control)
- Experience improving performance, efficiency and profitability
- The ability to lead across sales, operations and delivery functions
- A structured, systems-driven approach to running a business
- Confidence making decisions and addressing underperformance early
- Experience in construction, logistics, engineering or project-based environments
This is a key leadership role, reporting to the COO and dotted line to the MD, with real ownership and impact. You will be working in a growing, entrepreneurial business where pace, clarity and execution matter.
