About the Role

Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, this hands-on leadership role is pivotal in ensuring smooth theatre operations and outstanding patient-centred care.

As Theatre Team Leader, you will:

  • Manage x3 direct reports and coordinate your team to deliver safe, effective, and efficient services.

  • Provide clinical expertise as a scrub and circulating nurse in gynaecology procedures.

  • Oversee rostering, delegation, staff performance, and training.

  • Act as a role model, mentor, and resource for your team.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent surgical outcomes.

  • Maintain compliance with professional standards, policies, and health and safety requirements.

About You

  • Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and APC.

  • Proven perioperative/theatre nursing experience, ideally in gynaecology.

  • Previous leadership experience or the drive to step into a leadership role.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and support your team.

  • Calmness under pressure and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
