HVAC Site Supervisor

The Opportunity
We’re partnering with an established HVAC business that’s about to launch a new operation in Taranaki - and they’re looking for an experienced HVAC Site Supervisor to help make it happen. This is a genuine greenfields opportunity. Not a maintenance role and not one where you’ll be sitting on the sidelines. You’ll be leading commercial installation projects on site, coordinating crews and playing a key role in setting up the company’s presence in the region. You’ll be the person on site who keeps things moving – managing teams, coordinating trades, and ensuring installs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The Company
This privately owned HVAC company has more than 50 years of experience delivering heating and cooling solutions across the Waikato. They’ve built a strong reputation for quality workmanship and long-term client relationships across both residential and commercial projects. With new contracts secured in the Taranaki region, they’re now expanding their footprint and need a capable supervisor who can lead from the front and help establish operations locally.

About the Role
In this role, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of commercial HVAC installation projects, including:

• Supervising on-site HVAC installation, commissioning and maintenance
• Managing technicians, subcontractors and labour crews
• Interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications and project schedules
• Running toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inspections
• Coordinating materials, tools and manpower to keep projects running efficiently
• Liaising with project managers, engineers, clients and other trades on site
• Monitoring progress, productivity and variations across large-scale projects
• Overseeing testing, commissioning and final handover
• Maintaining accurate and compliant site documentation

About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

• Proven experience as an HVAC Supervisor on commercial construction projects
• Strong technical understanding of commercial heating and air conditioning systems
• A background in fabrication or mechanical/engineering environments (advantageous)
• Confidence interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and coordinating subcontractors
• A leadership style that is firm, fair and respected on site
• Strong commitment to health and safety best practice
• A full, clean driver’s licence
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required
