About the Clinic

This is a busy and well-respected rural practice caring for a community of approximately 6,000 patients. With a stable team of 4.5 GPs, 4 nurses, a dedicated admin team and an experienced Practice Manager, the clinic offers exceptional support for locums. They operate as a Prime Practice, ensuring a high standard of care and a collaborative environment.

Located within easy driving distance of Wellington, Napier and Taupo (around 2 hours each), this role gives you the chance to experience a vibrant rural community while working with a passionate and welcoming team.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced GP Locum across several upcoming blocks in 2026:

• 12th – 23rd January 2026
• 4th March – 22nd April 2026
• 7th – 18th September 2026

You’ll work Monday - Friday (flexible options available), 8am – 5pm, with protected time for paperwork. Consultations are 15 minutes, and you’ll enjoy the backing of a strong multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality rural care.

You should have

• MCNZ Registration or qualification to register to practice in New Zealand
• Current APC and Medical Indemnity
• Confident in supporting a diverse range of ethnicities and cultures
• Dedicated to delivering patient-centered care
• Proven diagnostic competency
• Friendly, inclusive, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
