Exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join a busy urgent care clinic on a permanent, part-time basis.

We are partnering with a leading urgent care provider in Dunedin, known for delivering high-quality, accessible medical services to the local community. You’ll be joining a dedicated and professional environment where collaboration and learning are at the heart of what they do.

The Role

As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming and checking in patients in a warm and efficient manner

  • Answering phone calls and responding to enquiries

  • Booking and managing appointments using a Patient Management System (PMS)

  • Monitoring the waiting room and managing patient flow

  • Processing payments and accurately entering claims and subsidies

  • Maintaining up-to-date patient records and supporting documentation

  • Assisting with general administration tasks

This role requires flexibility to work on a fortnightly rostered basis which are outlined below:  

Week one:

Tuesday 2pm - 6pm

Sunday 7.45am - 1pm

Week two:

Tuesday 2pm - 6pm

Saturday 7.45am - 1pm

What You'll Bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare admin role

  • Proficiency with medical software (e.g., Medtech or similar PMS)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management

  • A calm and professional demeanour, even under pressure

  • A commitment to confidentiality and patient care

  • The ability to work well in a team and respond to changing priorities
