This is a full-time position with standard hours being Monday to Friday, with flexibility around start and finish times. During active clinical trials, there will be a requirement to work occasional overnight shifts and weekends; however, this will only apply for the duration of specific trials.

Please note this is an administration-heavy role with a significant amount of desk-based work and detailed documentation, so it would not suit someone who prefers a predominantly clinical, hands-on position and dislikes paperwork.

About the Company:
A leading clinical research unit based in South Auckland is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes through high-quality clinical trials. The team works closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to evaluate new treatments, therapies, and medical devices, ensuring they meet the highest ethical and scientific standards. With a focus on community health and equity, the unit provides opportunities for diverse patient populations to access cutting-edge innovations while contributing to global healthcare progress.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Research Nurse, you’ll be coordinating and delivering cutting-edge clinical trials, working closely with Principal Investigators, and ensuring participant safety and compliance every step of the way. The role is admin heavy with a lot of time behind a desk so will not suit someone who does not enjoy admin.

  • Pre-screening, recruiting, and supporting participants through their trial journey.
  • Administering investigational products (infusions, oral meds, chemo).
  • Collecting and managing clinical samples (bloods, ECGs, vitals).
  • Keeping accurate and timely records.
  • Collaborating with sponsors, regulators, and an amazing internal team.
  • Ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and by the book.

About you:

  • Registered in NZ
  • Ideally 3+ years post-reg and a solid clinical background.
  • Bonus points if you’ve already worked in clinical trials, but full training and support will be provided for the right person with the right attitude!
  • Familiar with GCP and the ethics of research (or keen to learn).
  • Sharp, compassionate, culturally sensitive.
  • Organised, efficient, and an all-round team player
  • Able to handle the chaos and still keep a smile on your face!
  • Tech-savvy and confident with Microsoft Office & clinical systems.
