This is a role suited to a capable Senior Accountant who enjoys building strong client relationships and delivering high-quality accounting and taxation services. You will be comfortable working across a varied client portfolio, preparing financial statements and tax returns, while supporting clients with practical advice and clear communication.  Client facing/relationship based, this role encourages time spent with valuable clientele, as focus continues to grow around quality of care and development. 

You will be joining a highly reputed and well-established Ponsonby practice with a reputation for providing professional, timely and trusted advice to their clients. The team is collaborative, knowledgeable and committed to maintaining high professional standards while continuing to grow and develop their client relationships.

The ideal person for this role will be confident managing client relationships and comfortable working both independently and as part of a supportive team. You will work closely with Directors and Managers, assisting clients across a range of accounting, tax and advisory matters.  With some changes on the horizon in terms of team structure, currently this firm runs under a flat management structure.  Intention continues to develop a framework that will offer the opportunity for a growth path.  

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns
• Assisting with IRD matters and enquiries
• Supporting clients through clear communication and practical advice.
• There will also be opportunities to contribute to consulting assignments and attend client meetings where required.

• You have excellent communication skills, NZ experience and a very sound handle on the English language both written and spoken
• You have solid experience preparing financial statements and tax returns and experience working in an Advisory Firm
• You are confident and enjoy managing client relationships
• You take pride in delivering professional, timely and high-quality work
• You enjoy working as part of a collaborative and supportive team
