We're looking for a Small Tools Mechanic to take ownership of a busy fleet of small plant and equipment that supports a range of civil construction projects across Auckland & the Waikato.

Join a dynamic, well-established family business that is in rapid growth mode with a solid pipeline in the works. Work from a top of the line workshop based in Mercer, with some travel out on the road collecting gear from the team.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and managing equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable and ready to go when the crews need it.

  • Compactors
  • Compressors
  • Concrete saws
  • Water blasters
  • Drills
  • Grinders
  • Sweepers
  • Chainsaws

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
  • Managing equipment schedules and maintenance records
  • Ensuring equipment is compliant, safe and ready for use
  • Keeping the workshop organised and running efficiently
  • Supporting project teams with equipment requirements

What we’re looking for: 

  • A mechanical background in small engines, automotive, plant, machinery or similar
  • Experience servicing and repairing small tools and equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Someone who takes ownership and pride in their work
  • A team player who enjoys being part of a close-knit environment
  • Experience with STIHL equipment or within a STIHL dealership/workshop would be advantageous
