About the Role:

You’ll be responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilisation, and storage of surgical instruments and medical devices. The successful candidate will work closely with theatre teams, maintain inventory, manage loan kits, and follow strict infection control standards all while contributing to a positive, efficient team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising reusable medical devices.

• Assembling and function-checking surgical instruments and power tools.

• Managing high-level disinfection of flexible endoscopes.

• Handling loan equipment and maintaining stock and documentation.

• Following SOPs, policies, and infection prevention procedures.

• Supporting continuous improvement and quality standards in CSSD.

What We’re Looking For:

• NZ Sterilising Certificate (NZSSA) Level 4.

• Prior experience in a CSSD or surgical/hospital environment.

• Familiarity with sterilisation processes, endoscope reprocessing, and surgical kits.

• Excellent time management and attention to detail.

• Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work well within a team.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
