The Opportunity
Some opportunities don't come along very often and this is one of them. We're looking for a capable, exceptionally organised and proactive Operations & Travel Coordinator to join a high-performing sports team with all things operations and travel in preparing for a major international campaign.
Working across travel, accommodation, events, hospitality and day-to-day operations, you'll play a pivotal role behind the scenes, ensuring everything runs smoothly both in New Zealand and overseas. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving problems before they arise and takes genuine pride in keeping people, plans and logistics on track. No two days will look the same. One day you could be coordinating international travel and accommodation for a large group, the next supporting VIP guests, managing operational requirements or preparing for an overseas deployment.
You’ll be highly organised, naturally resourceful and will love being the person who makes things happen. A true people person where the ability to coordinate events, manage busy itineraries and host groups of people making them feel comfortable and looked after will come naturally to you.
About the Role:
Kicking off as an initial 12 month contract, but with the likelihood of an annually renewing contract, you’ll be responsible for:
- Coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements (Visa, work permit and travel docs)
- Managing accommodation bookings and logistics for large travelling groups
- Maintaining operational schedules, databases and tracking spreadsheets
- Supporting hospitality, guest experience and event programmes
- Hosting and assisting VIP guests and key stakeholders
- Liaising with suppliers and service providers both locally and internationally
- Conducting site visits and supporting overseas operational planning
- Providing hands-on support during international campaigns and events
- Working closely with team leaders to ensure seamless delivery across all logistics and operational activities
About You:
You may come from a background in events, corporate travel, executive support, hospitality, sports administration, project management or perhaps you’re just somebody who enjoys being organised, anticipates problems before they happen and thrives in managing multiple priorities at once, either way, you’ll have that something special that keeps the wheels turning whilst pulling off some epic wins.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong initiative and the ability to always be thinking 10 steps ahead
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities on the fly
- A calm, solutions-focused mindset under pressure
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- A willingness and ability to travel extensively when required
- A current full driver's licence
What's In It For You?
- A genuinely unique opportunity that doesn't come around often - truly a job like no other
- Extensive international travel and exposure to major, large scale global events
- A varied role with a high level of responsibility and autonomy
- The chance to work alongside a passionate, high-performing team
- An environment like absolute no other; be part of the buzz of extraordinary event/s
- The opportunity to be part of something ambitious, exciting and truly world-class
- 12 Month FTC with high possibility of continuous annual renewal
Travel Requirements
This role includes regular international travel and applicants must be available to spend extended periods overseas, including approximately four months abroad during 2027.
