Join a business who is on a mission to help New Zealand’s dogs live better, more active lives through real, whole-food supplements that actually work, delivering results that dog owners can truly see.

This is a small, fast-moving team that handles everything from product to marketing in-house, and are now in need of a sharp Video Editor to help tell their story and scale.

Are you an editor who loves data just as much as you love a good frame? Excellent opportunity to bring your skills to a lean, fast-moving team in the pet wellness space; seeking a creative who can take raw footage and turn it into high-converting social content. We don’t need a corporate cog; we need a video specialist who understands that the best edit is one that stops the scroll and drives the bottom line.

Why this role hits different:

  • Own the creative output: You aren't just cranking out revisions for ten different stakeholders. You’ll have real autonomy to test ideas and shape brand identity.
  • See your impact in real-time: Performance-obsessed team. You’ll see exactly which ads convert, giving you the immediate feedback loop every good editor craves.
  • Balance the workflow: You aren't just stuck at a desk. You'll spend most of your time in the edit suite, but you’ll also be out in the field meeting real customers and their dogs - how good!

A bit about the business:

This is a Kiwi brand that’s doing things differently. A small, agile team that moves at pace valuing people who can carry their own weight and bring proactive solutions to the table rather than just waiting for instructions.

The role in a nutshell:

This is a hybrid editor/creator position. About 85% of your week is "in the flow" editing, optimizing ads for Meta, piecing together high-trust customer stories, and refining founder content. The other 15% is the "hands-on" part: getting out with a camera, interviewing customers, and capturing that raw, authentic magic that makes the brand feel real.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving conversion: Cutting high-energy, short-form ads that actually perform on paid channels.
  • Storytelling: Taking raw testimonials and founder-led content and turning them into compelling, trust-building narratives.
  • Managing the library: Keeping assets, files, and project folders orderly so the team can access them easily.
  • Field production: Managing small-scale shoots. You’ll be the one to guide customers, put them at ease on camera, and extract the best stories.
  • Trend-spotting: Keeping a pulse on what’s working in the social video landscape and pitching ways we can adapt those trends for our brand.

The experience and skills you’ll bring:

  • Performance Mindset: You know how to marry creative editing with conversion data. You understand why an ad works (or why it doesn't).
  • Technical Toolkit: You are proficient in Premiere Pro or Final Cut. You’re also comfortable pulling in After Effects or CapCut for motion graphics and text overlays.
  • The X-Factor: You have a natural sense of pacing. You know exactly when to cut, how to balance audio, and how to create a rhythm that keeps viewers hooked.
  • People Skills: You’re personable and professional. Whether it’s an owner or their dog, you have the ability to make your subjects feel comfortable in front of a lens.
  • Self-Management: You’re organized, proactive, and happy to run your own process. We provide the briefs; you own the delivery.
  • Last but not least, a passion for animals, wellness and meeting dogs and their owners

If you’re a hit the ground running editor, and are keen for a full time permanent remote position (based in AKL or chch with occasional travel to Sydney) apply now to Laura at Fred through SEEK and have your portfolio ready for the shortlisting phase.
