Account Manager

We are seeking a motivated and down to earth Account Manager to join our team, to make a real difference in the lives of young kiwis who are pursuing a career in the trades industry.

• Remote Role growing a lower south island territory 

• Supporting young kiwi’s to build a vibrant future in the trades industry

• $80,000 salary + company car + quarterly commission

The business:

My client is a leading provider of apprenticeship programs in New Zealand. They are committed to supporting young kiwis to build their career goals through training and mentorship in the electrical, plumbing and drain laying space. 

Together, we are looking to hire an Account Manager, to build and maintain this lower south island territory.  

What you will be doing:

The role will see you coaching, mentoring, and supporting apprentices within the lower south island region, while also managing and building relationships with host businesses. 

This is a rewarding opportunity working within the education space, where you will be making a positive impact on young kiwi's across the lower south island. 

You can be based anywhere within the lower south island, the role will include travel to check in with host businesses and apprentices progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coach and mentor apprentices to ensure they successfully complete their chosen apprenticeship.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with host businesses.
• Source new apprentices to replace those who leave the program.
• Travel throughout the lower south island  to meet with apprentices and host businesses.
• Work closely with the Auckland-based team to ensure apprentices receive the necessary administrative support and training.
• Achieve KPIs related to apprentice retention and host business satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have proven account management experience, ideally from the trades or education sector. You will be someone who enjoys nurturing and seeing trades people thrive in completing their chosen choice of apprenticeship. 

There will be an aspect of business development to this role, with the majority focus being matching an apprentice to a host business, keeping in touch to ensure a smooth experience for both parties. 

Skills and Experience:

• Proven account management experience.
• A background in recruitment, trades, or education is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for education and supporting young people.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• A self-starter with a "go-getter" attitude.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
