Lead with confidence. Support your team. Shape a strong clinical culture.
- Monday - Friday + flexi start and finish times
- Some on-call clinical responsibilities
- Professional development opportunities + leadership training
A fantastic and challenging opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for supporting teams, to deliver excellent clinical care.
This is an opportunity to step into a hands on leadership role where your experience, judgement and leadership style can help shape and develop a strong clinical culture and set the team up for ongoing success.
We are looking for a confident and approachable Clinical Nurse Lead to join a well established aged care facility in South Auckland, supporting a diverse environment across rest home, hospital, dementia, psychiatric and ACC care.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being visible and actively involved with their team. You will provide clinical leadership to a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, working closely with the Care Home Manager and wider clinical support team. Therefore you will need to bring with you proven experience leading a team and delivering positively on outcomes.
What you will be responsible for:
- Providing strong clinical leadership, mentoring and support to the nursing team
- Overseeing care planning, assessments, documentation and clinical standards
- Supporting quality improvement, clinical governance and compliance
- Providing guidance around complex clinical situations and decision making
- Helping build a positive, supportive and accountable team culture
What we are looking for:
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current APC
- Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience
- Previous aged care experience is highly preferred, although community nursing experience will also be considered
- Strong communication and people leadership skills
- A firm but fair leadership style, with the ability to build trust and respect
- Calm, resilient and confident managing pressure
- Approachable, culturally aware and comfortable working with a diverse team
- Someone who is willing to be visible and supportive on the floor
This is not a role for someone looking to sit behind a desk. You will be an important presence within the facility, supporting your team and helping create consistency, confidence and positive change.
The environment is diverse, with a particularly interesting mix of aged care and ACC clients. It will suit a leader who enjoys variety, can build strong relationships, provide clear direction and bring out the best in their team, while bringing structure and positive leadership to the role.
You will be well supported by an experienced Care Home Manager and wider clinical team, with opportunities for professional development, leadership training and further study.
You will need to be highly visible, able to manage a challenging environment and a culture that needs structure and new fresh initiatives to cultivate a positive cohesive work place. This isn't for someone who hasn't managed teams yet, this is a very valuable position within the team, and the intention is to hire a highly capable leader who will be strategic, roll out initiatives with confidence and bring the team together.
