What you will be doing 

This is a hands on service technician role for a qualified electrician working across Auckland installing, maintaining and fault finding automated electrical equipment on client sites.

You will be out on the road visiting client’s locations, diagnosing issues and getting equipment back up and running. The work is a mix of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, so being mechanically minded is essential to understanding how systems operate as a whole, not just the electrical side.

You will be the face of the business on site, working directly with clients and representing the company in a professional, practical way.

This is a permanent, full time role, with overtime kicking in after 40 hours, paid at time and a half, with a weekend on-call roster, once every three weeks + an on call allowance, with occasional travel outside of Auckland from time to time. 

Day to day will include

• Installing, servicing and maintaining automated electrical equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults on site
• Responding to service callouts and breakdowns across Auckland
• Working independently while staying connected to a local and national support team
• Building strong working relationships with clients on site

About you

We are looking for a reliable, hands on electrician who enjoys practical problem solving and working independently in the field.

• Fully qualified and registered electrician
• 2 - 3+ years’ experience in electrical, industrial or service work
• Mechanically minded with strong fault finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems
• Comfortable working alone and managing your own day
• Confident communicating with clients on site
• Keen to learn and build skills in automation and advanced systems
