About our client

We’re working with a large, complex New Zealand business that’s on an exciting growth and transformation journey, and they’re looking for a commercially sharp intermediate level Business Planning Analyst to join their Finance team.

This is a pivotal role sitting at the heart of financial planning and performance reporting, supporting the FP&A Manager and partnering closely with senior leadership. If you enjoy turning operational and commercial activity into clear financial insight, and you love improving systems and processes along the way, this could be a fantastic next step.

About the role

This is a broad and engaging position where you’ll:

• Own and deliver monthly Board reporting packs, including financials, KPIs and variance analysis
• Provide clear, meaningful commentary on performance drivers like volume, price, mix, costs, risks and opportunities
• Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Head Office
• Contribute to longer-term 5–10 year financial modelling
• Partner with corporate functions including IT, People & Performance, Finance and the Leadership Team
• Support the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle with forward-looking reporting and insights
• Drive continuous improvement, including automation of manual tasks and optimisation within planning systems

This role will suit someone who enjoys both the detail and the bigger picture, someone who can ensure accuracy while also stepping back to provide insight, challenge assumptions and influence decision-making.

Who you will be

• Strong financial planning and analysis experience
• A curiosity to drive improvement across systems, maximising reporting functions
• Confidence preparing Board-level reporting
• Experience across budgeting and forecasting cycles
• The ability to build trusted relationships across a business
• A proactive, commercially curious approach

Experience with enterprise planning tools (such as Workday Adaptive or similar) will be advantageous.
