Financial Accountant

Part-time financial accountant role with flexibility! Work with a fun team and take ownership in this growing business.  Immediate start preferred.

We’re looking for a capable and detail-focused Financial Accountant to step into a key role supporting the day-to-day financial operations at head office level and working the businesses within a group. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy, multi-entity environment — and wants the flexibility of part-time hours.  

You’ll work closely with a supportive and experienced COO and be backed by administrators across the businesses. This is a stable, long-term role within a values-driven business that’s focused on operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Your role will include:

• Managing daily transactional finance functions: AP, AR, payroll coordination, and bank recs.
• Month-end journals, reconciliations, and group reporting
• GST returns and compliance
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow processes
• Overseeing Xero across the group and maintaining financial controls
• Guiding and training admin staff on financial best practices
• Contribute to audits, projects, and compliance initiatives

This could be a great fit if you are:

• Strong commercial experience and able to deal with the complexity of a growing business environment, ideally with multiple entities.   
• Proficiency in Xero is highly valuable. 
• Confident working independently and managing competing deadlines.
• Strong on accuracy, process, and cross-team communication.
• Degree qualified, ideally with CA or CPA quals too.

The Details:

• Part-time, permanent role - the preference is 9am - 2pm Monday to Friday, but there is flexibility for the right person. 
• Based at the Mt Maunganui head office, with some travel between Tauranga and Hamilton.
