About the Role

As the Theatre Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for leading a specialty nursing team within the theatre, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical excellence. You'll collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and support staff to coordinate procedures efficiently and support the ongoing development of your team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and hands-on support across theatre services

• Oversee day-to-day operations including staff rostering, performance management, and team development

• Ensure evidence-based, patient-focused care is delivered to the highest standard

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise service delivery and efficiency

• Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards

• Mentor and support nursing staff, fostering a positive and growth-oriented team culture

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll be a confident and compassionate nursing professional with a strong theatre background and a passion for leadership. You’ll bring:

• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current APC

• 3+ years of perioperative nursing experience (leadership experience highly regarded)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm, proactive approach under pressure

• A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice

• Experience in Gynaecology
