About the Role

This role is ideal for an accomplished Audit Manager with a strong background in external audit and proven experience managing teams. You will oversee all aspects of external audit for a varied range of clients, drive high standards, and motivate a team of 12 direct reports. 

• Leading and managing multiple complex statutory audit engagements end-to-end

• Supervising, mentoring, and developing a team of 12 auditors

• Conducting risk assessments, financial reviews, and due diligence assignments

• Reviewing and providing feedback on audit work papers

• Managing client relationships and proactively addressing their needs

• Ensuring all work complies with auditing standards, company policy, and regulatory requirements.

About You

This role suits a well experienced audit professional with a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, and a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire large teams. This role combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a track record of building lasting client and team relationships. Ambition, a commitment to high standards, and a desire to progress to with the firm, contributing to both the success of the Tauranga branch and the wider firm.

• A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (or equivalent) with at least 6 years of recent experience in external audit

• Strong technical knowledge of relevant accounting and auditing standards

• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor, delegate, and build effective relationships internally and externally

• Excellent communication, project management, and decision-making abilities.
