Management Accountant

The role

This is a client facing accounting role with a blend of management accounting and advisory work, ideally seeking someone with good intermediate level skills in management accounting who would like to move into a more broadly focused base of clientele. You will work with a varied portfolio of clients and be a key point of contact for their day to day financial needs. Duties include:

• Preparing management accounts including P and L, balance sheet and reporting packs
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning
• Helping clients understand their numbers and what is driving performance
• Building strong relationships and become a trusted advisor
• Identifying trends, risks and opportunities within client businesses
• Working with systems like Xero and support improvements in processes
• Collaborating with the wider team and contribute to client outcomes

This is not just about producing reports. It is about adding value and helping clients make better decisions. You will be a trusted advisor who enjoys working closely with clients on everyday decisions and advice, enjoying a role that goes beyond technical, and allows clients to feel fully supported.  

You will have a team around you, plenty of experience and leadership, with all the support you need to develop your own skills.  The right person will have drive to excel, to grow into new territory as the team expands. 

About you

You will be someone who enjoys working with both numbers and people and wants to step into a more commercially focused role.

• No less than 3-4 years experience in management accounting
• Comfortable preparing reports and explaining them to clients
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships - a people person
• Proactive and able to manage your own workload with independence
• Keen to add value and go beyond just technical work
• Experience with systems like Xero is beneficial
