We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Allied Health Professional or Clinical Psychologist for an exciting leadership opportunity within Adult Community Mental Health Services in Auckland.
This newly established role offers the opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a therapeutic group programme across specialist community mental health services supporting adults experiencing moderate to severe mental distress and illness.
Working across multiple community mental health centres within the Auckland region, the successful candidate will provide leadership in the coordination, facilitation and ongoing development of evidence-based therapeutic group interventions. The role combines clinical expertise, programme development and collaborative multidisciplinary practice within a dynamic and supportive mental health environment.
The successful applicant will work closely with senior clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of contemporary, accessible and recovery-focused therapeutic group programmes that support positive outcomes for tangata whaiora.
This role may also include a small clinical caseload aligned to the successful candidate’s professional background and expertise.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Extensive experience within adult mental health services
- Strong therapeutic group facilitation skills across a range of interventions
- Excellent communication, engagement and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and services
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- A recovery-focused and culturally responsive approach to care
- Ability to work both autonomously and within team environments
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration with an appropriate professional body and a current APC
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within mental health services, ideally adult community mental health
- Demonstrated experience facilitating therapeutic groups for adult populations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
