The Role:
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide short-term remote cover for prescription processing and basic inbox management during a defined period.
The cover period runs from 29th June - 28th July (inclusive), with work required Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The workload is light and flexible, averaging approximately 2 - 4.5 hours per week depending on volume, and can be completed outside standard hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Generating repeat and acute prescriptions via PMS in line with NP scope
- Reviewing and filing incoming correspondence (no results management)
- Providing appropriate tide-over scripts where clinically indicated
- Declining script requests where necessary, with clear clinical reasoning
- Communicating outcomes to patients via PMS messaging (scripts issued, tide-overs, declines, or follow-up required)
Work does not need to be completed in real time and can be done flexibly, including outside standard hours. Secure access to the practice management system is provided.

You Will:
- Be a registered Nurse Practitioner with current NZ APC
- Be confident working independently within prescribing scope
- Have experience with prescribing and clinical decision-making
- Be comfortable working remotely using clinical systems (PMS)
- Be able to follow structured protocols and documentation standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients
- Be reliable, detail-focused, and comfortable with light-volume, flexible work
- Be available across the cover period (29 June – 28 July, Mon/Wed/Fri)
