I am seeking a Care Home Manager to lead a well-established aged care facility on Auckland's North Shore. This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and understands how to bring out the best in a team while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy care home.
Importantly, this is not a clinical management role. While you'll work closely alongside an experienced Clinical Manager, your focus will be on leadership, operations, people management, compliance, quality systems, occupancy, and ensuring the facility continues to run successfully.
About the Role
As Care Home Manager, you will oversee the overall operation of the facility, leading a team of approximately 50 staff across multiple functions. You'll be responsible for creating a supportive, high-performing environment where residents receive exceptional care and staff feel valued, supported and engaged.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being visible, building relationships, solving problems, and guiding teams through change with empathy and confidence.

What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in a senior operational management role within aged care, healthcare, hospitality, retirement living or a similarly service-focused environment
- Proven people leadership experience, including leading larger teams
- Experience managing compliance, quality systems and preparing for aged care audits
- Demonstrated experience participating in or leading Ministry of Health aged residential care audits
- Strong operational and financial management capability
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, resilient and practical leadership style
- The ability to support, coach and develop staff while maintaining high standards
