We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse for a senior leadership opportunity within specialist mental health services in Auckland.
This unique role combines operational and clinical leadership responsibilities with ongoing advanced clinical practice, offering the opportunity to lead highly specialised multidisciplinary teams delivering consultation, neurostimulation and regional specialist services across acute and community settings.
Based within a hospital-based specialist mental health service, the successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight to teams supporting people with complex physical and mental health needs, alongside specialist neurostimulation and neurological services. The role includes maintaining a clinical component through rostered Nurse Specialist shifts within the service.
Working closely with senior clinical and operational leaders, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, safe and effective service delivery while contributing to service development, workforce support and clinical governance initiatives.
This role would suit a senior mental health clinician who is collaborative, adaptable and passionate about leading specialist services that make a meaningful difference for tangata whaiora and whānau.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Strong leadership capability and advanced mental health nursing practice
- Experience working within acute and/or specialist mental health services
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Commitment to recovery-focused and culturally responsive care
- Knowledge of contemporary mental health and addictions practice
- Ability to support service development, quality improvement and workforce capability
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and bicultural practice
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with a current APC
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a relevant clinical environment
- At least 18 months’ experience in a senior or designated leadership role
- Membership of a relevant professional body where applicable
