We’re partnering with one of New Zealand’s leading private surgical providers to recruit an experienced Charge Manager – Anaesthetics to lead a high-performing team across a large and modern perioperative service.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a newly developed, purpose-built surgical facility featuring 10 operating theatres and advanced clinical technology.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Theatre Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team of Anaesthetic Technicians and RNAAs, ensuring anaesthetic services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest clinical standards.
This role plays a key part in supporting positive clinical outcomes, exceptional customer experience, strong team culture, and ongoing service growth.
Working hours are Monday to Friday day shifts, with flexibility required from time to time to meet operational needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a team of Anaesthetic Technicians and RNAAs
- Ensuring efficient utilisation of clinical and financial resources
- Supporting high-quality patient care and clinical excellence
- Building strong relationships with Anaesthetists, Surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
- Driving a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
- Supporting quality improvement, safety, and operational performance initiatives
About You
You’ll be a credible and supportive leader who leads by example and enjoys developing positive, respectful team environments where communication and collaboration thrive.
You’ll bring:
- NZ registration and current APC as an Anaesthetic Technician or qualified RNAA
- CORE Advanced certification
- Extensive experience as a highly skilled anaesthetic practitioner
- Previous leadership or management experience within perioperative services
- Strong clinical judgement and problem-solving capability
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary environments
- Management qualification (preferred but not essential)
