We are seeking experienced and motivated clinicians for two exciting Lead Clinician opportunities within specialist mental health services in Auckland. These roles combine advanced clinical practice with leadership responsibilities within well-established multidisciplinary teams committed to delivering high quality, evidence-based care.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Mental Health Nurses and Allied Health professionals including Clinical Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. One role also welcomes applications from experienced Psychiatrists.

These positions are primarily Monday to Friday roles and include a significant clinical component alongside dedicated leadership responsibilities. Flexible or part-time arrangements may be considered for one position for the right candidate.

The available opportunities include:

  • A Lead Clinician role within a specialist Youth Forensic Mental Health Team providing services across youth justice residences, youth courts and community settings, supporting rangatahi with complex mental health and forensic needs.

Both roles work closely with Clinical Team Leaders and wider leadership teams to support service delivery, clinical excellence, staff development and positive team culture. The successful applicants will demonstrate strong leadership capability, excellent relationship skills and a commitment to recovery-focused and culturally safe practice.

We are looking for clinicians who bring:

  • Advanced clinical skills and strong mental health experience
  • A collaborative and recovery-focused approach to care
  • Proven leadership capability or readiness to step into a leadership role
  • Ability to work effectively with service users, whānau, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
  • Knowledge of contemporary mental health and addictions practice
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and commitment to bicultural practice
  • Sound professional judgement and ethical practice

Essential requirements include:

  • NZ registration with current APC
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a relevant clinical setting
  • Full, clean NZ driver licence
  • Membership of the relevant professional body/college where applicable

You will join supportive and experienced multidisciplinary teams committed to improving outcomes for service users and whānau across specialist mental health services in Auckland.
