The successful candidate will be the guardian of food safety and compliance systems, ensuring that every product handled meets the standards expected by customers.

The Role

In this role, you will work closely with the Business Manager to lead and refine their Quality Assurance framework. You will be the bridge between international suppliers and local customers, fostering collaboration and driving quality at every step of the supply chain.

This position offers a blend of hands-on quality management, regulatory navigation, and strategic supplier engagement. It is a fantastic chance to make a real impact in a fast-moving industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage food safety systems and quality standards.
• Coordinate product specifications and compliance documentation with suppliers.
• Ensure products meet NZ food regulations and labelling standards.
• Manage supplier audits and certifications.
• Resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
• Assist with product development and supplier onboarding.
• Lead internal audits and regulatory checks.
• Monitor warehouse and inventory quality standards.
• Maintain accurate quality and compliance records.
• Advise internal teams and partners on quality and safety.
• Promote continuous improvement in safety and quality processes.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in food industry QA, Food Safety, or Regulatory Affairs.
• Proficiency with NZ food regulations, labelling, allergens, and nutritional compliance.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, risk management, supplier auditing, and certification processes.
• Expertise in managing complaints, non-conformance investigations, and corrective actions.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with imported ingredients or manufacturing preferred.
• Relevant qualification in Food Technology, Science, or QA.
